She prides herself on providing her clients with realistic advice and options, whilst keeping in mind the importance of being commercial. Caterina is regarded by her clients as being empathetic, upfront, having the ability to think outside the circle and dedicated to getting the job done.

Caterina notably acted on behalf of the successful Applicant in the reported Family Court case of Spencer & Speight [2014] FamCA 436, where it was established that a de facto relationship can exist even though it was a relationship of less than 2 years, and there was no sexual relationship. She was also successful in obtaining a significant costs order in favour of the Applicant.

Caterina was previously a Partner at a leading family law firm in Melbourne. Prior to that, Caterina practised at one of Australia’s “top 5” legal firms where she completed her Articled Clerkship. She also had exposure to commercial litigation at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) and short a stint at Clyde & Co, in London.

Caterina liaises with experienced barristers, accountants, superannuation professionals who are able to assist her clients as required. She also liaises with Wills and Estate Planning specialists whose advice and services are invaluable in family law matters.
